This is one of these stations that I find a little extra special since my mom grew up in the area. As a kid I thought this station was soooo cool since it was elevated. My grandmother lived at the next stop, at Wieselgrensplatsen. Sometimes we went up on a small bridge close by and looked at the trams passing under, something I still enjoy doing.

Järntorget was named after the now-demolished scale which once stood on the site. It was used for weighing iron to be exported from the city's harbour. Personally this is my favorite square of Gothenburg, it has some of my most visited cafés and second hand shops. There used to be a kid playing 90's garage band punk here for a few years, but I think he might have gotten picked up by some label, he was real good.

I remember quite vividly the first time I rode the tram by myself, it was this precise tram model and I was sitting in the 4-seater in the middle. I think I was maybe 7 or 8 years old. I only went a few stations but it was the first time in my life I felt like I was grown-up.

Hemfärd, the M28

I wanted to capture the feeling of entering the embrace of a tram at nighttime. The moonlight caresses the worn seats while the bare lightbulbs give the atmosphere a warm and almost whimsical feeling. This is a childhood memory for all of us 80's 90's and 00's kids out there.

This is tram model M28, build in the middle of the 60s, they retired 2021. It's my favorite model (I guess I'm heavily biased since I grew up riding this tram) and I'm sad to see it go, but also happy that it got to run for so many years.

If you've been in Gothenburg before 2010 you might recognize the green ticket machine. The ticket machine was mounted in the trams from 1990 to 2010.
